چکیده

Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) has been use to discriminate different pathogens by signals from cells infected with these versus normal cells as references. To do the statistical analysis, Partial Least Square Regression (PLSR) was utilized to distinguish any two kinds of virus‐infected cells and normal cells. Validation using Bootstrap method and Cross‐validations were employed to calculate the shrinkages of Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC) and specificities ii corresponding to 80%, 90%, and 95% sensitivities. The result shows that our procedure can significantly discriminate these pathogens when we compare infected cells with the normal cells. On the height of this success, PLSR was applied again to simultaneously compare two kinds of virus‐infected cells and the normal cells. The shrinkage of Volume Under the Surface (VUS) was calculated to do the evaluation of model diagnostic performance. The high value of VUS demonstrates that our method can effectively differentiate virus‐infected cells and normal cells.

Discrimination of Human Cell Lines by Infrared Spectroscopy and Mathematical Modeling

Variations in biochemical features are extensive among cells. Identification of marker that is specific for each cell is essential for following the differentiation of stem cell and metastatic growing. Identification of fungal phyto-pathogens by Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) microscopy

Fungi are considered as serious pathogens to many plants and can cause a severe economic damage. Early detection and identification of these pathogens is very important and might be critical for their control. The available methods for identification of fungi are time consuming and not always very specific. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) microscopy is proved to be a reliable and sensitive me...

Discrimination of Geological Top-Formations by their Morphology through SAR Images and via Fractal Geometry implementation in IEM Backscattering Model(Case Study: Zagros Thrust Belt)

Morphological discrimination of geological top-formations is the supplemental procedure of geological mapping; so in situ measurements to register geomorphological data are unavoidable; though due to the impassable and fault cliffs field operations to visit all areas within a geological map is almost impossible. Microwave or radar remote sensing, via synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images is cap...

Diagnosing Changes in Cells Using FTIR Microspectroscopy

Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) microscopy has shown promise as an analytical tool for detecting changes in cells and tissues, such as those due to viral infection, apoptosis induction or malignancy. In many cases, diagnosis via FTIR microscopy can be undertaken on a timescale shorter than that required for other physical or histological techniques. In this work we have used FTIR microscopy t...
